6 Initial operation
6.1 Safety notes
CAUTION: INITIAL OPERATION
The first time a stove is operated, the heat generated causes volatile
components to be released from the coating, sealing strips and the
lubricants as well as smoke and odours:
►
Do not stay longer in the affected rooms than necessary.
►
Open windows and doors to ensure adequate ventilation.
►
If necessary, use a fan for fast air exchange.
► Only operate the stove with the firebox door closed.
► The firebox door may be opened to add fuel during operation.
WARNING: KINDLING
Improper use of kindling (petrol, spirits or other flammable liquids) can
damage your stove and result in burns due to explosive flames:
► Never use petrol, spirits or other flammable liquids.
► Only use the type of kindling specified in the operating
instructions.
WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK
Connecting the controller under the stove to a 230 Volt mains socket can
result in electric shock due to contact with the stove:
►
Do not connect your stove to a 230 Volt mains socket under the
stove.
►
The connection under the stove must be a USB connection
with max. 5 Volt.
6.2 Switching on the regulator
The controller detects all operating states and automatically configures
the required settings.
The stove cannot be operated manually without the controller.
Switching on the controller:
►
Connect the USB-C cable to the socket on the stove
and the mains plug (Fig. 8).
►
Connect the mains plug to the mains (Fig. 8).
►
Open the service door.
►
Set the switch on the control panel to “On” (Fig. 9).
When the power light lights up blue, the controller is ready.

NOTE: MAINS PLUG AND USB-C CABLE
Using a mains plug or USB-C cable not included with your stove may
damage the electronics:
►
Always use the included HASE mains plug and USB-C
cable to connect the controller to the mains.
INFO: CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
Every time the controller on the control panel is switched on, the air flaps will
be calibrated and tested. During this process the LED will flash for
approx. 1 min.
INFO: SWITCHING THE CONTROLLER OFF
If the stove will not be used, the controller on the control panel can be
switched off to save electricity.
6.3 Operating the rotating console
6.3.1 Safety notes
WARNING: FIRE HAZARD
Flammable objects (e.g. furniture) within the radiation area of the stove can
catch fire:
►
Flammable materials, e.g. furniture, must not be located within
the radiation range of the stove at the set radiation area
(Fig. 10 and Fig. 11).
CAUTION: HOT SURFACES
The stove is equipped with a rotating console.
Turning the stove whilst heating can result in burns:
►
Never turn the stove whilst heating.
