11. Metal Bulkhead Spacing Adjustments

A. To Move the Bulkhead Toward the Cowling
CAUTION 1: THE STACK-UP SEQUENCE FOR EACH
HUB CLAMPING BOLT MUST BE THE
SAME. VARIANCES BETWEEN
STACK-UPS CAN CAUSE CRACKING OF
THE SPINNER BULKHEAD. EXCEPTIONS
MAY BE REQUIRED IF PROPELLER
APPLICATIONS HAVE DE-ICE OR
ANTI-ICE APPLICATIONS. REFER TO
HARTZELL PROPELLER INC. ICE

INSTRUCTIONS.
CAUTION 2: THE
COMBINED THICKNESS OF
ADDITIONAL WASHERS/SPACERS MUST
BE LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 0.125 INCH
(3.17 MM). IF MORE ADJUSTMENT IS
NEEDED, CONTACT THE HARTZELL
PRODUCT SUPPORT DEPARTMENT.
(1) Put additional washer(s)/spacer(s) between the spacer
and the hub as shown in Figure 3-21 to get the desired
bulkhead spacing.
CAUTION:
THREAD COVERAGE/ENGAGEMENT
REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED IN THE
“BULKHEAD INSTALLATION” SECTION
MUST BE MET.
(2) Complete the spinner bulkhead/dome installation in
accordance with the applicable sections in this chapter.
