Section 2 Installation
•
If equipment is not available to lift the cabinet off the skid, you may want to remove
the back door to lighten the cabinet. The door may be set aside and rollers (pipe) and
a ramp used to remove the cabinet from the skid.
!
CAUTION:
SLIDE CABINET OFF TO THE FRONT OR BACK OF SKID (NOT THE SIDE) TO
AVOID BENDING BOTTOM PANEL.
•
Replace the door after the cabinet is set in place. Position the door on suitable block-
ing material while inserting the hinge pins starting from the top down.
•
Starting with one end cabinet, move each cabinet to the approximate location.
•
When each cabinet is in its final position, you may need to level the cabinet. Check
the level in all three planes. Metal plates shimmed under the cabinet edges can be
used for levelling.
•
Bolt the cabinets together using at least 2 of the holes near the top of each cabinet.
The cabinets should be shimmed until the bolt hole line up and the cabinet sides are
parallel and touching. Do not use the bolts to pull the cabinets together.
NOTE:
If the floor is to be tiled or covered after the transmitter is in place, additional
shims must be used to allow the power supply covers to fit properly. Failure to do
this will cause the power supply covers to come in contact with the flooring
material.

Grounding
All cabinets have clearly marked brass blocks inside the rear of the cabinets where 2"
copper strap can be connected. There are grounding blocks near the top of the cabinets
for RF system and inter- cabinet grounding and one or more near the bottom with a slot
cut in the cabinet at ground level directly below the grounding block.
Refer to the Transmitter drawings for the recommended grounding locations. For
additional information on station grounding requirements refer to Appendix B. Also
refer to the Transmitter System wiring diagram and AC Power Flow drawings.
