Graphical User Interface
A graphical windows style display is used for monitoring system status, metering and
control functions on a high resolution color display. The display allows transmitter
control using hot buttons built into the graphic displays. Most of the system
configuration, calibration, set-up and software upgrading is done via the GUI. Displays
include a cabinet display with fault and normal status indications, RF block diagrams,
module block diagrams, exciter status, power metering, DC power supply status and
metering and other screens including pictures of cabinets and modules with major
assemblies identified.
A fault logging feature takes a snapshot of the transmitter system at the time of the fault
and creates a unique record of the event. This includes the date and time the fault
occurred. This fault log will capture the most recent 99 faults.
The meter logging feature also takes a snapshot of the transmitter meter readings, based
on user preferences of what is logged and when it is taken, and creates a unique
record. The meter log can hold up to 99 records.
Report and Print functions allow the fault and/or meter logs to be printed or saved to a
file of the users choosing. Some of the file choices include, Word, excel, Lotus 123,
crystal reports etc... Meter logs can be set to print out automatically.

In-System Programming (ISP)
Using the Harris ISP software, the firmware (embedded software) on the Main
Controller, Cabinet Controller and all PA Module controllers can be updated (if
necessary) using the GUI computer or an external pc and a serial connection to either
the System I/O board or the Cabinet controller. This allows for updating of control
software without having to replace the firmware ICs.
NOTE:
Complete ISP procedures are given in the "Diamond Software Manual" - 888-
2470-001.
