Notes: In Section 5 – “NetWave Servicing,” the DSP Card Status subsection discusses the
DSP Active and Fault LEDs.
The NetWave Quick Guide and the previous Dual Faders & DSP Cards subsection of
this manual give the parameter settings used by several common peripherals.
Channel Source Labels
Dual Fader panels have an A/B source label installed on each fader channel. The source label lights up yellow
when the A Source is active or red when the B Source is active. The console installation kit includes one
blank source label (PRE80-2132) per fader channel so that you can create custom-named source labels
(Figure 2-22). Use a Brother P-Touch
®
label maker (1/4" clear with black lettering tape is recommended) to
print up to five characters per source name when using Size 1 font.
Figure 2-22. Custom Source Name Label
To replace the A/B source name label, perform these steps:
1.
Pry up on the smoked polycarbonate display lens from the outside. (Each lens has two snap tabs along
the top and bottom that hold it in the panel.)
2.
Remove the A/B label from the rubber silo. If the A/B labels is glued into the silo with rubber cement,
use an Exacto knife to trim the glue and remove the label.
3.
Insert the custom label into the rubber silo ledge. Make sure the labels are firmly held in the ledge
around the top of each silo before snapping the display lens back onto the panel.
Cabling & Wiring
All user connections are made on plug-in connectors along the rear of the console. The connectors are
hidden in normal operation by a rear flip-up cover that extends across the console.
To access the connectors, you can completely remove the cover by lifting it straight up when closed, or you
can flip it open by either lifting it from the front edge or by pressing in on the vertical section at the back.
The cover sits on two roll pins that extend from the side panels. It flips open toward the rear.
Note: The cover is typically removed during installation to ease connector access. To prevent
scratches, set the painted cover on a padded surface.
Required Cables & Wires
These types of wire and cable are recommended for use with NetWave consoles:
●
Analog audio connections can use Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cables (Gepco IR222BA7 or similar) for
most balanced connections. Shielded cable with a separate shield drain wire (Belden 8451 or 9451 or
similar) should be used for connecting powered monitor speakers.
●
AES/EBU connections use 110 Ω two-conductor, stranded, insulated, foil-shield cable containing a
separate shield drain wire (equivalent to Belden 1800B), although UTP cable also works for most
connections.
