Managing and configuring your Spectrum system
cause brief instances of video disruption. When removing a disk drive, you can click the
Bypass Drive
button found in the SystemManager Drive Properties page prior to removing
the Disk Drive to reduce the probability of video disruption.
1. Power down your Spectrum video server(s). From the Properties page in SystemManager, click the
Shutdown
button for your Spectrum video server.
NOTE:
In the event that you cannot use SystemManager to power down a
MediaDirector 2252B, 2252B-DS,or 2251B, or a MediaCenter 2200B, you can
gracefully power down the unit using the power button on the right-hand rack ear
behind the bezel. The physical buttons are only accessible with the use of a small
tipped tool.
When the power button is used for the power down, the system performs a software
shutdown and stops the file system. The shutdown typically takes 15-20 seconds to
complete, but it could take up to a minute.
2. Exit the SystemManager application, and then Exit Internet Explorer by clicking
File
>
Close
.
3. Shut down the SystemManager platform or customer-supplied PC by clicking
Start
>
Shutdown
>
OK
, and then turning off its main power switch.
4. Turn off the SystemManager Keyboard/Monitor Tray by turning off its power switch.
5. Power down the MediaStores as follows:
◦ For the MediaStore 5100/5000 series, switch off the power buttons on the PCMs, or remove the
AC power at the power source.
◦ For the MediaStore 7200, press the power button on the control panel and hold for four seconds.
Once the disk drive LEDs are off, disconnect the two power cords from the back of the unit.
6. Remove power from each MediaPort, ChannelPort, or Spectrum X by disconnecting the AC cord from
the power source.
