1. Attach an Ethernet cable to one of the Gigabit Ethernet ports on the rear panel of the Spectrum X.
Attach the other end to your network switch.
2. Attach one end of an Ethernet cable to your network client or your Harmonic MediaGrid client. Attach
the other end to your network switch. For Harmonic MediaGrid connection details and hardware

.
Connecting to an automation system
If you are using an automation system for control, connect your MediaPorts, ChannelPorts, or Spectrum X
to the automation system.
Follow the procedure that applies to your Spectrum device.
NOTE:
All automation systems differ in their array of control connectors and their methods
of interfacing with the Spectrum system. The following section provides one example. Refer
to your automation system’s installation guide for interconnection details.
Connecting Spectrum X to an automation system
If you are using an automation system, connect any Spectrum X units you wish to control with
automation.
