1. Connect one end of a SAS cable to the right-hand SAS port on the MediaCenter.
2. Connect the other end of the SAS cable to an open SAS port on the "Primary" SAS module of the
MediaStore 7200.
3. Connect one end of a SAS cable to the left-hand SAS port on the MediaCenter.
4. Connect the other end of the SAS cable to an open SAS port on the "Secondary" SAS module of the
MediaStore 7200.
Connecting MediaDirectors and MediaStores using SAS
Connect MediaDirectors to MediaStores by cabling the SAS connections.
Connecting MediaDirector 2252B or 2251B units and MediaStores using
SAS
Connect the MediaDirector 2252B-DS, 2252B, or 2251B to the MediaStore 5100 or 5000 series by
cabling the SAS connections.
The sample diagrams in this section show the recommended cabling for a system that uses one
MediaDirector 2252B with storage across a maximum of four MediaStores.
CAUTION:
Make sure each MediaDirector is running the same version of Spectrum
software and each has an EFS license installed BEFORE connecting the EFS Ethernet or
shared storage cables.
