Rate Calibration Process
Feeder System
Verification
Procedures • The instrument is now calibrated and can be operated in "Manual
Mode". Manual mode controls the speed of the feeder motor which
is essential to verify that the Control Output has the proper range of
control for your process and that the feeder is operating properly
before performing the rate calibration.
Step 1. Press the ‘Set Pt/4" button. The security message appears.
Step 2. Press the Enter button. The Set Point Menu appears with the
cursor next to the Rate sub-menu.
Step 3. Setting the Rate
• Press the "Select" button to scroll through all the rate
selections which are:
Manual
Mass Units/Time Units (e.g. 5.00 LB/M)
Remote (Remote Input Option Only)
• Select Manual. Press the Enter button.
• Press the down arrow
↓
to select the Amount sub-menu.
Step 4. Setting the Amount
• Press the "Select" button to scroll through all the rate
selections which are:
Continuous
000.000 Mass Unit (LB, KG, GL, etc.)
• Select Continuous. Press the Enter button.
• Press the Exit button. The operational display appears.
(See Fig. 5-2)
• If the operational display does not appear (See Fig. 5-2),
press the "Display" button until it does appear.
Step 5. Verify that the feeder is loaded.
Step 6. Verify that there is a container to hold the displaced material
from the feeder.
Step 7. Turn on the feeder.
Step 8. Turn on the agitators if equipped.
