Hard Calibration
Process (With
Calibrated Test
Weights)
NOTE:
You must perform the calibration setup procedures before performing the Hard Cali-
bration procedures.
Step 1. Make sure to measure the dead load only.
Step 2. Remove all material from the feeder.
Step 3. Turn off all motors, agitators and any machinery that pro-
duces vibration.
CAUTION
THE ZERO AND SPAN CALIBRATION PROCEDURES MUST BE PER-
FORMED TOGETHER. IF EITHER IS ALTERED, BOTH MUST BE RE-
ENTERED.
ZERO Calibration
Procedures
Step 1. The ZERO calibration measures the dead load of the feeder
system in millivolts.
Step 2. Press the Enter button.
Step 3. An information message appears asking you to wait for the
system to stabilize. Wait for at least 12 seconds.
CAUTION
IF THE DISPLAY IS NOT STABLE, THE WRONG ZERO VALUE WILL BE
ACCEPTED WHEN YOU PRESS THE ENTER BUTTON. MAKE COM-
PLETELY SURE THAT THE SYSTEM IS STABLE TO YOUR SATISFAC-
TION BEFORE PRESSING THE ENTER BUTTON OR THE SYSTEM WILL
NOT BE CALIBRATED CORRECTLY.
Step 4. Press the Enter button.
Step 5. The instrument has entered the gross weight (the millivolt sig-
nal) of the system to this point of the calibration process.
SPAN Calibration
Procedures
Step 1. Place a span test weight equal to 80% to 100% of the scale
capacity on the scale.
NOTE:
If you do not have a span weight equal to your anticipated live load, use a weight
equal to 80% of the scale capacity.
Step 2. Press the Clear button to erase the displayed span weight and
use the numeric key pad to enter the total weight of the test
weights being used.
Step 3. An information message appears asking you to wait for the
system to stabilize. Wait for at least 12 seconds for the system
to stabilize.
CAUTION
IF THE DISPLAY IS NOT STABLE, THE WRONG SPAN VALUE WILL BE
ACCEPTED WHEN YOU PRESS THE ENTER BUTTON. MAKE COM-
PLETELY SURE THAT THE SYSTEM IS STABLE TO YOUR SATISFAC-
TION BEFORE PRESSING THE ENTER BUTTON OR THE SYSTEM WILL
NOT BE CALIBRATED CORRECTLY.
Step 4. Press the Enter button.
