Cleaning and descaling
Clean and descale the appliance
regularly to prevent it from becom-
ing damaged and to ensure your
coffee has the best possible fla-
vour.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Water or other liquids that
have seeped inside may
cause a short circuit or elec-
tric shock.

Switch off the appliance
and pull the mains plug out
of the socket before clean-
ing.
Follow manufacturer instruc-
tions on cleaners and descal-
ing agents!
Descaling agents and clean-
ers are irritants and can be
harmful to health. They can
also damage other objects
and textiles.

Follow manufacturer in-
structions on cleaners and
descaling agents.

Avoid contact with the des-
caling agent.
■
Do not ingest the descaling
agent.
■
Do not mix the descaling
agent with other cleaners
and descaling agents or
other chemicals.
■
Wash your hands after us-
ing the descaling agent.
CAUTION
Risk of scalding!
If fi lling the appliance with a
mixture of water and descaler
shortly after the brewing pro-
cess, hot steam from the wa-
ter outlet may cause scalding.
■
Allow the appliance to cool
down for at least 5 minutes
before descaling.
Hot water will fl ow from the
water outlet during the des-
caling process. Contact with
this water can cause scalding.
■
Keep the water tank lid
closed during the descaling
process.
