MAINTENANCE
13. MAINTENANCE
13.1. ELECTRODE CONDITIONING & MAINTENANCE
Preparation
• Remove the electrode protective cap. Do not be alarmed if any salt deposits are present, this is
normal. Rinse the probe with water.
• Shake the electrode down as you would do with a clinical thermometer to eliminate any air bubbles
inside the glass bulb (pH electrode only).
• If the bulb and/or junction are dry, soak the electrode in
HI70300
storage solution for a minimum
of 30 minutes. Rinse with water.
• Calibrate before using.
• When the electrode is not in use, add a few drops of
HI70300
storage solution to the protective
cap and replace the cap. To ensure a quick response, the glass bulb (pH electrode) and the junction
should be kept moist and not allowed to dry out. This can be achieved by installing the electrode in
such a way that it is constantly in the flow cell or the pipe filled with the sample.
Note:
Never store the electrode in distilled or deionized water.
13.2. PUMP TUBING REPLACEMENT
For pump tubing replacement please wear protective gloves and eye protection at all times; and follow
the steps below:
1. Power off the controller.
2. Disconnect the tubing from the pump.
3. Remove the plastic cover from the pumps, which is fixed with a screw.
