This section describes the pins on the standard hydroSpider’s green I/O and Power connector. These
pins are labelled on the lid of the hydroSpider.

: the two GND pins are equivalent and all inputs and outputs are referenced to this common
ground.
Note:
hydroSpiders fitted with optional SDI-12 / RS-485 or RS-232 interfaces have different pinouts.
Please refer to Appendix A - SDI-12 / RS-485 and Appendix B - RS-232 for information on these
changes.
2.6.2
Connecting power
Connect the positive of the selected 12V DC 1A power source to the
BATT
(PWR IN) pin and the
negative to a
GND
pin. Take caution to observe the correct polarity to avoid damaging the
hydroSpider.
Note
that if you wish to use the charger feature of the hydroSpider, then you must use a 12V SLA
rechargeable battery of
no more than 7.2Ah capacity
. Otherwise, any 12V battery or 12V DC supply
capable of supplying 1A current can be used.
