Read the instructions carefully before using this product! Incorrect use may lead to
accidents. This manual must be retained throughout the product’s life cycle.
CORRECT USE
These clamps with pivoting shackle can be used for lifting and transporting steel plates (one plate at a time)
at various angles, but the load capacity is reduced as seen on the diagram below showing the load/force
capacities. When using two clamps to transport large-sized plates, pay attention to the reduced capacities of
the clamps.
The plate
surface
must have
a hardness
below HRC
30.
Make
sure
that
the support
in which the
pivoting
shackle is attached to is strong enough to hold the weight of the plate.
SAFETY
Danger exists when lifting loads, particularly when the plate clamp is not used properly or is poorly maintained.
Since an accident or serious injury could result, special safety precautions apply to the operation with the plate
clamp during its assembly, maintenance and inspection.
In clamps where damage such as cracks, wear on the welded section, or other defect or malfunction is
found, immediately stop using them regardless of the apparent size or extent of the damage. Check the
clamp before each use for visible signs of damage.
Make sure that the load to be lifted is in proper condition.
Be sure to stay clear or out of the swinging range of objects being lifted. Never stand under the load and
never transport the load above or over people.
Position the clamp so that the load will be in balance. Lift the load slowly and steadily.
Never leave the load unattended and do not leave the load hanging for a longer time.
Never lift more than one plate at a time.
Use clamps with adequate specifications (both lifting capacity and opening).
