Draw pressure monitor (DPM) filter:
A 0.2 µm filter located on the blood
line is used as a bacteria barrier between the draw pressure monitor and
the disposable set. It is coupled with the receptor on the DPM to monitor
pressure within the blood line from the blood pump to the RBC bag.
In case of any occlusion in the line or any obstruction generated by the
sterile connection process, the pressure monitor will stop the pump and
alert the operator.
Heat sealed tubing:
The end of the blood line tubing is heat sealed to
achieve a closed system and is connected to the RBC bag using a sterile
connection device.
