Connection of phase cables
INFORMATION
Do not try to shorten the phase cables. The single wires are ceramic insulated and cannot
be crimped without any special tools in an electrically conductive manner again.
Crimping
Extend the motor cable at the prepared crimp
connectors as desired. The cable cross-section has
to be selected according to the table in Chapter 3.2.
A hydraulic crimping tool is recommended for that,
for example Klauke EKM60IDCFB.
Mechanical alternative, for example Klauke K5
Isolate and connect phase cables.
Insulate the crimping point with shrink tubing.
Connect the cable ends to the converter.
Please look at the information in the operating
manuals for the converter you are using and select
an electrical connection with sufficient current
carrying capacity.
DANGER
Electric shock
Due to the direct connection to the alternating current supply network
The motor must only be operated with a suitable speed controller and it must never be
connected directly to a power supply.
The motor must never be connected directly to the 230 or 400V AC mains.
