Note:
Add the additional components A and D to reagent solutions A
and D shortly before use (figure 5). Cool the ready prepared reagent
solutions in the refrigerator. The ready prepared reagent solutions are
usable for 3 months, after which the canisters must be disposed of
together with the remaining contents.
1.
Fill the additional component A into the reagent canister A using
the funnel.
2.
Fill the additional component D into the reagent canister D using
the funnel.
3.
Seal reagent canisters A and D with new lids and shake thoroughly
for 2 x 1 minute.
4.
Stick a label with the preparation data on each reagent canister A
and D.
5.
Press a menu key for 3 seconds and select the +SERVICE menu.
6.
Open the refrigerator and pull the reagent hoses out of the
canisters.
7.
Take the old reagent canisters from the refrigerator, unscrew the
lids and replace with the lids of the new canisters.
8.
Put new canisters in the refrigerator, insert the hoses again, close
the refrigerator, select PRE PUMPING and then CALIBRATION.
Exchange of the standard solution
The standard solution is ready to use. Exchange the standard solution
depending on consumption every 6–12 months.
1.
Remove old bottle with standard solution, unscrew lid and replace
with the lid of the new bottle.
2.
Insert new bottle, screw on the lid with the suction hose.
3.
The exact concentration of the standard solution is printed on the
bottle.
4.
Enter standard concentration in the +SETTINGS > STANDARD
menu.
Cleaning tasks

observe safety notes on the cleaning agents used!
6.
Insert the cleaned hoses again
7.
Select [PRE PUMP. & CALIB.] function to fill all hoses automatically
and to start a calibration
Reaction principle
Orthophosphate ions *) in acidic solution with molybdate ions in the
presence of antimony ions form a complex that is reduced through
ascorbic acid to phosphorus molybdenum blue. The color intensity is
proportional to the orthophosphate content *) of the sample in the
specified measurement range.
Polyphosphates and some organic phosphorus compounds are
hydrolyzed through boiling in strongly acidic solution into
orthophosphates *).
Stable phosphorus compounds are digested by sodium peroxide sulfate.
In the PHOSPHAX
Σ
sigma work is performed at temperatures way over
100 °C under pressure. Only under these extreme conditions are such
short digestion times achieved.
