The BLOCSTOP protects against hoist failure and, if mounted on a separate safety wire rope, against sus-

pension wire rope failure. This BLOCSTOP operates at a certain "speed limit" which is directly related to 

the speed of the wire rope passing through the BLOCSTOP.
