Replacing drive backplanes

To avoid bodily injury from hot surfaces, allow the server and its internal modules to cool before
touching them.
Removing drive backplanes
1.

Disconnect cables from the backplane.

Remove the drive backplanes:

To remove the front drive backplane, loosen the captive screws on the backplane, slowly lift
the backplane, and then pull it out of the chassis, as shown in
.
The removal procedure is the same for the available front drive backplanes. This procedure
uses the front 25SFF drive backplane.
CAUTION:
Do not use excessive force when lifting the drive backplane out of the chassis. Using
excessive force might strike the components on the backplane against the chassis and
damage the components.
