The precision of the rebooting timer is 1 minute. One minute before the rebooting time, the device
prompts “REBOOT IN ONE MINUTE” and reboots in one minute.
z
If the device has only one main board, rebooting the board with the
reboot
command reboots the
device; if two main boards are installed on the device, execution of the
reboot
command reboots
the AMB only. You can use the
slave restart
command to reboot the SMB. For more information
about the
slave restart
command, see
Active Standby Switchover
in the
High Availability
Command Reference
. If you do not specify the
slot
keyword, the execution of the
reboot
command on the device results in the reboot of the device, including the AMB, the SMB, and the
interface cards. (On the SR6604/6608/6616 router)
z
If a main boot file fails or does not exist, the device cannot be rebooted with the
reboot
command.
In this case, you can re-specify a main boot file to reboot the device, or you can power off the
device then power it on and the system automatically uses the backup boot file to restart the
device.
z
If you are performing file operations when the device is to be rebooted, the system does not
execute the command for the sake of security.
