The second RA message carries information about remaining DNS suffixes.
Each time the device sends an RA message from an interface, it immediately refreshes the RA
message advertisement interval for that interface.
Examples
# Specify the DNS suffix as
com
, the suffix lifetime as
infinite
,
and the sequence number as
1
for
RA messages on VLAN-interface 100.

Whether enabling this feature on an interface will trigger sending RA message immediately for DNS
suffix update depends on the interface configuration:
•
If the interface has been configured with DNS suffix information, the device immediately sends
two RA messages. In the first message, the lifetime for DNS suffixes is 0 seconds. The second
RA message does not carry any DNSSL options.
•
If the interface has no DNS suffix information specified, no RA messages are triggered.
•
If you specify a new DNS suffix or remove a DNS suffix, the device immediately sends an RA
message without any DNSSL options.
