Copper port remains in down state

A 10/100/1000Base-T GE copper port or 1/10GBase-T 10-GE copper port remains in down state.

Troubleshooting copper port's failure to come up
Solution
To resolve the problem:
1.
Verify that the speed and duplex mode of the local port match the speed and duplex mode of the
peer port:
a.
Execute the
display interface brief
command to examine whether the speed and duplex mode
of the port match the speed and duplex mode of the peer port.
The switch does not support the half-duplex mode. If the switch and its peer operate in
half-duplex mode after negotiation, the ports on the switch will not come up.
