3.2.1 Installing the RPS Unit to a 19-inch
Rack
Caution:
The front mounting ears are used only for fixing
the RPS unit to the rack; they cannot bear the
weight of the RPS unit. When installing the
RPS1000-A3 to a 19-inch rack, be sure to use a
supporting tray or rear mounting ears to support
the weight of the unit.
I. Installing the unit using front and rear
mounting ears and a supporting tray
Step 1: Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and
check the grounding and stableness of the rack.
Step 2: Take out the supplied front ear screws
and attach the front ears to the front end of the RPS
unit using the screws, as shown in Figure 4 .
Step 3: Take out the supplied rear ear weight
bearing screws and install them into the appropriate
screw holes at both side of the RPS unit, as shown in
Figure 4 .
