Checklist
Hoist and rail systems
CONTROL
Periodic Inspection according
to DS/EN ISO 10535:2006
12-month inspection of hoist and rail systems
Information
All hoists and rail systems must
be inspected every 12 months.
The demand for inspection is only
related to safety issues and not to
maintenance.
The rail system must be inspected
even when a hoist is not instal-
led. The only situation where we
accept that an inspection of the
rail system is not carried out is
when the customers have been
informed that they must not use
the system until an inspection has
taken place. Without an inspection
they will not have the advantage
and flexibility that rail systems and
hoists offer with regard to being
moved around.
Both rail system and hoist must
have a sticker that indicates time
for next inspection. The rail system
must be clearly marked with maxi-
mum safety working load.
If a periodic inspection reveals any
defects, wear or other damage
that jeopardize the safety of the
hoist or rail system, the owner
should immediately be notified.
In the event of immediate risk to
the safety, the hoist or rail system
should immediately be taken out
of operation and must not be used
again until the abnormality has
been eliminated.
A record of the inspection date
of the hoist and rail system and
inspection result should be noted
in a logbook together with the
inspector’s signature (checklist).
Defects and damage of impor-
tance to the safety of the hoist or
rail system which have occurred
between inspections and have
already led to corrective actions
should be entered in the logbook,
and reported back to Guldmann.
Any observations of importance
for the safety of the hoist and rail
system should be noted, prefera-
bly in the logbook which should be
retained by the person responsible
for the servicing/maintenance of
the hoist and rail system.
