8 Mounting the appliance
CAUTION
Risk of inappropriate installation
The device must be assembled by trained and qualified persons only.
º
After having mounted the fittings, verify their faultless functioning.
º
Follow the enclosed assembly drawings exactly.
DANGER
Risk of crushing
During the automatic opening and closing of the window, push and pull
forces of up to 250 N occur. These forces can crush limbs when reaching
between sash and frame, especially since the motor repeatedly tries to
complete the lift.
º
Keep children, disabled persons, and animals away from the window.
º
Do not reach between sash and frame when the motor is running.
º
In the case of a window installed below 2.50 m, secure all crushing and
shearing points to ensure that persons do not accidentally reach into
them. Observe VFF leaflet KB.01 “Power-Operated Windows”.
DANGER
Risk of injury
Motor-driven filt windows must always be equipped with a safety catch to
prevent injury through falling sashes.
Also when mounting the motor to a window already installed is it possible to
get injured by the sash opening suddenly.
º
Always use appropriate safety devices such as security stays to catch
the window.
º
The security stay must be adapted to the travel of the drive. To avoid a
blockade, the opening width of the security stay must be larger than the
drive’s travel.
º
Install the motor in a way that it is always accessible.
º
Follow the installation drawing which is enclosed in the fastening kit or can be ordered
with us by your responsible distribution company. The drawing contains the dimensions
for the different installation methods according to profile system.
º
All dimensions of the particular installation are the responsibility of the installer and must
adjusted, if required.
º
Before working on the profiles, take note of the following:
•
Minimum sash width
•
Minimum sash height
•
Maximum sash weight
•
Possible wind and snow loads
•
Space required on the profile according to the installation method.
º
Check the required minimum distances.
º
Carry out a function test. Use the appropriate Gretsch-Unitas testing and setting appa-
ratus for this purpose (see chapter „11 Components and accessories“ on page 25).
