Electrical safety devices, safety measures
5.4
Electrical safety devices, safety measures
The power generation system is fitted with an “insulation monitor with
disconnection” and complies with the safety measure “electrical separation
with potential equalization connector” according to VDE 0100, Part 551.
The power sockets built into the switch cabinet are secured against
overcurrent and short circuit with line circuit breakers. The line circuit
breakers are uniquely assigned to the relevant power sockets,
ð
There is no need to earth the power generation system (e.g. through an
earthing rod) for the electrical safety measures mentioned above to work
properly.

Danger to life through electric shock
y
The emergency power socket which is given a special label is
not protected by the insulation monitor. For this reason, only
the “electrical separation” protective measure is effective for
this power socket.
►
Only connect a single consumer to the emergency power
socket. Failing to do so will suspend the protective measure.

y
A grounding of the neutral conductor of the generator
(N, neutral conductor) invalidates the “electrical separation”
protective measure.
►
Never ground the neutral conductor of the generator.
