2. VCR Option Code
Dependent on the construction of the video recorder, the correspond-
ing software stored in the mask-programmed

C is activated with the
VCR Option Code. The option code is stored in EEPROM IC705.
Service note
On replacement of EEPROM IC705 this
µ
C is to be programmed
specific to the machine.
Entering the option code
– Switch the VCR off (Standby).
– Bridge the test points P802 on the chassis board shortly. All
segments will appear on the display.
– Use the buttons
C
/
D
to select the function numbers
JP 0 to JP39
and the level settings
SP P to EP n.
– Activate or deactivate the function numbers
JP 0 to JP39 accord-
ing to the Option Code Table with button
G
or ”
CLEAR
” respec-
tively. On activating the function, the function number starts
flashing and it is illuminated on deactivating the function.
– Select the level settings
SP P to EP n with buttons 0...7 according
to the Option Code Table.
Attention: All the machine's functions work correctly only on enter-
ing the correct option code.
– To store and terminate the entered option code, bridge the test
points P802 on the chassis board shortly. All segments will appear
on the display.
Checking the settings
For checking the settings the function numbers (JP 0…JP39) are
combined to 10 blocks of 4 binary digits each and are displayed as a
hexadecimal number. When pressing the remote control button

7 least significant blocks of this number are displayed.

ally, the luminance and chrominance settings in Standard Play mode
included in the software will be displayed.
