Installing a cover with air space
Lower the cover onto the pumping station when the backfill has
been compacted to the top level of the pumping station. See figs
and
.
After installation, there must be an air space of 150 mm between
the cover and the pit. See figs

4.6 Connecting the vent pipe
We recommend that you provide the pit with a vent pipe
(accessory). See section

4.7 Installing a retrofitted inlet
A retrofitted inlet must be installed according to Grundfos
instructions. The inlet must always be above the start level of the
pump to prevent sedimentation in the inlet pipe.
Observe the following rules when installing the inlet:
• If more than one inlet is installed, the minimum distance
between the inlets must be 200 mm.
• If the pit includes a service platform, the inlet must be installed
below it.
• The inlet location must be as remote as possible from the
pump inlets.
• Flow velocity at the inlet must not exceed 1.2 m/s to avoid the
formation of eddies in the pit. See fig.
.
• The inlet fall height must always be minimised and it must not
exceed 1 m with the water level down.
