6.2 Storage
The pump is frost-proof as long as it is operating or immersed in
the liquid.
If the pit has been previously pumped dry, and the pump has
been exposed to the atmosphere, allow the pump to stand
immersed in the liquid for a short period before starting.
This eliminates the possibility of a frozen propeller/impeller.
Never use an open flame to thaw out the pump.
If the pump is stored dry, the propeller/impeller should be rotated
by hand at least every two months to prevent the seals from
seizing up.
If the pump is submerged, operate it for 30 seconds every month.
During storage, pay special attention to the condition of the seals
and the cable entry. The pump should be periodically cleaned and
sprayed with corrosion-inhibiting oil. The pump should always be
stored under cover in a protected area not exposed to direct
sunlight.
If the pump is stored for more than six months, a full new
installation check should be done before startup.
Caution
Do not remove the protection from the free end of
the power supply cable or sensor cables until the
electrical connection is to be made.
Whether protected or not, the free cable end must
never be exposed to moisture or water.
Non-compliance may involve the risk of damage
to the motor.
During long periods of storage, the pump must
be protected against moisture and heat.
Note
Note
If the pump cannot be turned by hand, contact an
authorized service workshop.
