3.3 Avoidance of danger
If safe operation cannot be ensured any longer, the DIT-M
compact photometer is to be taken out of service and
safeguarded against unintentional operation. This is the case
under the following circumstances:
• The DIT-M photometer has visible damages.
• The DIT-M photometer seems to be inoperative.
• After a long storage time under unfavourable circumstances.

5.1 First commissioning
Before first commissioning insert the batteries delivered with the
product. Proceed as described in section

. First
commissioning procedure:
1. Switch on the device using [ON/OFF] key.
– The message "Please initialise the storage system with
Mode 34" appears in English (language of delivery).
2. Confirm message with
key.
3. Press [Mode] key to enter Mode menu.
4. Use arrow keys to select submenu 10 and press
key.
5. Select the desired language with arrow keys and press
key.
6. Use arrow keys to select submenu 12 and press
key.
7. Use [Shift] key together with number keys to enter date and
time, and confirm with
key.
8. Use arrow keys to select submenu 34 and press
key.
9. Confirm enquiry by pressing keys [Shift] + [1] and press
key to start initialization of storage system.
Warning
Do not open or dismantle the photometer!
Cleaning, maintenance and repair must only be
carried out by authorised personnel!
