10. Taking the product out of operation
10.1 Maintaining the product during standstill
10.1.1 Frost protection
If the product is not being used during periods of frost, it must be drained to avoid damage. Remove the filling and drain plugs. Do not refit the
plugs until the product is put into operation again.
10.1.2 "Standstill heating"
Use this function to avoid condensation in humid environments.
When you set the function to
Active
and the product is in operating mode
Stop
, a low AC voltage is applied to the motor windings. The
voltage is not high enough to make the motor rotate, but ensures that sufficient heat is generated to avoid condensation in the product,
including the electronic parts in the drive.
Remember to remove the drain plugs and fit a cover over the product.
11. Fault finding the product
DANGER
Electric shock
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Switch off the power supply before you start any work on the product.
‐
Make sure that the power supply cannot be switched on accidentally.
Fault finding and fault correction must be carried out by qualified persons.
11.1 The pump is not running and there is no indicator light
Cause
Power supply failure.
Remedy
•
Check if the power supply is switched off. Switch on the power supply.
•
Check if the external motor protection has tripped.
•
Check cables and cable connections for defects and loose connections.
11.2 The pump rotates backwards
No light indication in Grundfos Eye.
Cause
Foot valve or non-return valve is clogged or defective.
•
Foot valve or non-return valve is locked in open position.
Remedy
•
Remove and clean, repair or replace the valve
11.3 The pump can be reset but runs only for a few seconds
Alarm.
Motor is stopped.
Two opposite red indicator lights flashing simultaneously.
Cause
The pump inlet pressure is too low.
•
The inlet pipe is partly blocked by impurities.
•
The non-return valve is blocked in closed position.
•
There is a leakage in the inlet pipe.
•
There is air in the inlet pipe or pump.
Remedy
•
Check the inlet conditions of the pump.
•
Remove and clean the inlet pipe.
•
Inspect, repair or replace the non-return valve if necessary.
•
Vent the inlet pipe and the pump.
