Insert the plug in the relevant socket
“29”
of the ballast
unit and power up the unit.
Before connecting the unit, verify that power supplies fea-
tures are compatible with
360÷460Vac 50/60Hz + N Ground (GR0700)
187÷230Vac 50/60Hz + N Ground (GR0701)
The power supply line must be protected by appropriate
grounding and the use of a magnetothermic switch along
the power supply line with the following electrical char-
acteristics:
nominal current (In) 20A
sensitivity (Id) 0,03A.
8.1 Ballast group heater power supply.
The unit ballast is fitted with an internal heater which will prevent the ballast from shortcircuits due to condensa-
tion formation at low temperatures. When using the unit outdoor and with temperatures lower than 0°C (32°F) the
heater will start up and prevent from using the unit, until the ballast reaches the operating temperature.
The maximum operating limit at low temperatures is -20°C (-4°F).
The heater can be used in two operating modes:
A.
Connected to the unit.
B.
Connected to external power supplies.
8.1.1 Heater connected to the unit
In this operating mode the heater will start up when unit is
powered up.
Connect the plug
“30”
to the socket
“31”
and power up
the unit by operating the switch
“33”
.
If the temperature is lower than 0°C (32°F), the heater will
start up and the light
“32”
will switch on.
Waiting time is about 30 min with temperature -10°C (14°F)
and about 60 min with temperature -20°C (-4°F).
8.1.2 Heater connected to external power supplies.
In this operating mode the heater is always connected
to an external power supply source and, after initial warm-
ing, the heater will keep the ballast to the operating tem-
perature and therefore ready to work any time.
By using the connector
“34”
(supplied with the unit), con-
nect an independent power supply source to the socket
“35”
.
Make sure that power supply voltage is
210÷250Vac
50/60Hz
. Use a cable with minimum section 1.5 mm² .
Cable the connector
“34”
according to the following
table:
1
- Phase
2
- Neutral
3
- N.C.
