and front. Note that ‘Digital 1’ and ‘Digital 2’ are from the
Digital in 1 XLR and ‘Digital 3’ and Digital 4’ are from the
Digital in 2 XLR. All control faders in the driver are
disabled since the UC1 driver transfers all inputs
transparently.
On the next page the Output options are shown. The
top ‘Master’ fader controls the monitor path gain in the
UC1. When changing the monitor gain in the UC1 you
will see this fader move, and when moving the fader you
will see the monitor gain number on the UC1 display
change. In case you disabled ‘PC control of midi/volume’
in the UC1 preferences menu, the fader can still be
moved, but it does not affect the UC1 monitor gain
anymore.
Note that when the UC1 display indicates “0”, the driver
will show “-8 dB”. This is intentional. The ‘0’ level of the
UC1 display is a reference level, linked to an acoustic
SPL. The ‘0’ level in the OS driver is related to the
amount of digital gain of the monitor path volume
control. This is how the OS driver is designed by Apple.
Below the Master fader you see 8 output faders. They
are disabled (greyed out) since the UC1 transfers the
audio data transparent without volume control to the
outputs. The channel names in the USB driver carry
both the USB channel number and the name of the
Mac OS Audio Midi setup UC1 outputs page.
