POWER TALK 2000

Description

The 45058 Power Talk 2000 is intended to
provide long-range voice communication and ring
generation for troubleshooting dead analog
telephone circuits.

A single Power Talk 2000 provides voice and
one-way ringing. Two Power Talk units provide
voice and two-way ringing.

Operation

1.

Connect one or two Power Talk units as
illustrated.

2.

Turn the power on ( | ) at the sending Power
Talk unit. The Power On LED will flash.

Note: Slow flashing indicates that power is

ON. Rapid flashing indicates that the
battery is low.

3.

Momentarily press RING. When the handset
at the distant end is picked up, the green
off-hook LED will illuminate.

4.

When voice testing is complete, switch the
Power Talk unit off (O).

Note: For two-way ringing, repeat steps

2 through 4 for the other Power Talk
unit.

Keep hands away from the terminals when
pressing the RING button. This tool produces
55 VAC RMS when pressing the RING button.
Failure to observe this precaution can result
in injury.

Do not attempt to repair this test instrument.
It contains no user-serviceable parts.

Use this tester for manufacturer’s intended
purpose only. Use other than that which is
described in this manual can result injury or
property damage.

Replace weak or discharged batteries as soon
as either of these conditions is detected.

Do not use the test instrument
if it is wet or damaged.
