The height switch informs the seed monitoring
system if the planter is raised or lowered on planters
configured with ground drive. On all planters, the
seed monitoring system only counts seed when the
planter is lowered and the drive is activated. On
hydraulic and electric drive planters, the height switch
also enables or disables the drive.
Three brackets are included in the kit, any one
bracket or combination of brackets may be used to
mount the height switch sensor. Do not discard any
unused brackets. Any unused brackets need to be
stored with the planter for future use.
To install the height switch:
1. Lower the planter to the height at which seed
delivery should begin.
2. The brackets have several options for mounting
for the height switch sensor (A) and multiple
options for mounting the magnet (B).
3. Secure the magnet (1) with one bolt (2), one
washer (3), and one nut (4) on mounting bracket
(5).
4. Loosely secure bracket (7) with the one bolt (6)
and one wing nut (8) to bracket (5).
5. Loosely secure the height switch sensor (11) with
two nuts (9) and two washers (10) on mounting
bracket (7).
6. Using the magnet, position the kit on the tractor.
Move the brackets until the whisker will make
contact with a point which will adjust in relation to
the height of the planter.This location will vary
from tractor model to tractor model. Below is a
single example.


Set the tractor 3-point hitch control for depth
control operation. If the 3-point hitch control is
set for load control, the auto load control
response may automatically adjust too high in
some circumstances, causing the wings or
other major planter components to become
damaged.
Check, and adjust, all planter levels in field conditions
on level, even ground. The wing lock pins should be
