Use the Initial Mix Ends At knob (or select the data pad to bring up a
numeric keypad) to determine at what point the initial video will end and
the intermediate video will start. Use the Final Mix Starts At control to
determine where the intermediate video ends and the final video begins.
The ratio is set by percentage of the video transition, with 100% being the
completed transition and zero being the start.
Intermediate Video Settings
In the Intermediate Video Appears data pad, the intermediate video can be
set to appear either
Full Screen
or
Only On Layers That Change
. Selecting
Full
Screen
enables a full raster of intermediate video to appear during the mix
transition.
Selecting
Only On Layers That Change
restricts the intermediate
video to appear only in layers that change during the mix transition.
In the Intermediate Video Source data pad use the
Edit Matte
button to link
to the M/E Mattes menu (see the
) where the
intermediate video source can be selected as Matte or Utility (video). The
Matte menu will automatically be delegated to the correct M/E.
To use a matte as intermediate video, select the
Matte
button in the Base
Color – Source data pad on the right of the M/E – Matte menu. Matte
values automatically delegate to the M/E Trans Wipe Border controls. Use
the matte controls to set the desired matte settings for the intermediate
video.
If you wish to use the M/E Utility bus video, select the
Utility
button in the
Base Color – Source data pad. On the Main Control panel, select the
Utility
button in the Key Bus delegate subpanel for the M/E you are using and
select the desired intermediate video source on the delegated Key bus.

Source Select Menu
A Source Select menu is accessible from the M/E and Keyer menus. The
Source Select menu is used to change sources in real-time from the Menu
panel. This menu makes it possible to select sources that are not mapped to
any source select buttons. Infrequently used sources (like Black or a CG
logo) may not be mapped on a bus, to free up buttons for use with other
more important sources.
