Chapter 5 FUNCTION SETTINGS AND OPERATIONS
5.18 Setting the Initial Cutting Force
Ths functon s effectve n THICK mode, the mode used manly to cut thck meda. When a thck medum
s cut, more tme than usual may be requred for the blade to reach the base of the medum even f a
suitable cutting force has been specified. If this happens, the cutting operation may start before the blade
has reached the base and the medum may not be cut through at the start pont. Specfyng the START
CUT FORCE adds the START CUT FORCE value to the specified FORCE value that becomes effective
mmedately after the pen down operaton, thereby enablng the blade to reach the base of the medum n a
shorter period of time. (If, for example, 25 has been specified for the FORCE value and 4 is specified for the
START CUT FORCE value, the cuttng force after the pen down operaton temporarly becomes 29.)
