Outline of TANGENTIAL MODE
The blade needs to be facng toward the drecton of cut when cuttng the meda. The tp of the blade s shaped
as shown so the blade s facng the cuttng drecton even when t s cuttng curved lnes or corners. The tp of
the blade s off from the rotaton axs of the blade (CUTTER OFFSET). The blade wll automatcally turn and face
the cuttng drecton when the tool carrage moves, because the blade s forced to move from the rotaton center,
and the blade tp gets resstance by the meda.

The blade tp gets sunk nto the meda wth 0.3 mm or thcker, makng the blade hard to rotate. Especally for the
corners where two straght lnes meet, cuttng becomes very hard because t cannot rotate smoothly.
Tangental mode s a control method to precsely cut corners where two straght lnes meet. (See below) Wth the
tangental mode, the blade s advanced so t wll overcut at the corners before rasng the tool.
Then, t wll be lowered at the poston slghtly before the next lne, and start to cut wth slght overcut.

Overcut
There are 2 modes for tangental mode.
Mode 1 : Overcuts the start and end ponts and acute-angle corners to elmnate uncut sectons. In
addton, the cutter blade s moved on the surface of the medum durng cuttng when t s rotated
significantly, ensuring sharp cutting unaffected by the hardness or thickness of the media.
Mode 2 : Overcuts the start and end ponts only. In addton, the cutter blade s rotated on the medum
surface for the start cuttng poston only. Mode 2 uses smpler cutter control than Mode 1, and
provdes a shorter cuttng tme.
The length of the overcuts by tangental mode can be set ndvdually for start of the lne and for end of the lne.
