INTENDED USE OF THIS DEVICE

The intended use of the Tendercloud Static Air Mattress Overlay is

as a support and pressure reduction

surface.

INSTALLATION
Inflation

1.  From the foot end of the bed, unroll the overlay on top of regular mattress with valve on the left side.

Smooth out and place each of the four corner straps around the standard hospital mattress.

2.  Exclusive 2-part valve system:

a.  Unscrew top black cap.
b.  Tighten bottom red valve (it is essential that the bottom red valve be closed firmly).

3.  Insert air-filling device into top of the red valve and inflate for 60 seconds if using an electric pump.
4.  Replace black top cap and tighten firmly after inflation.
5.  Make up bed as usual with sheets, leaving overlay valve exposed (incontinence pads may be used).
6.  Patient may now be placed on overlay.

OPERATION
Hand Check

1.  With patient in place (lying down), gently insert your hand palm up under overlay directly beneath the

patient’s buttocks.

2.  Always keep the back of your hand flat against the hospital mattress. If the patient’s weight is directly

resting on the palm of your hand, overlay will need to be inflated for an additional 30 seconds. If you can-
not feel the patient, overlay is working efficiently and additional inflation is not required.
