ASSEMBLY AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

 WARNING: Important! Read and understand these instructions before assembling or using the 

Everest & Jennings Adjustable Back Upholstery with Cushion. If you do not understand any 
part of these warnings or instructions, contact a healthcare professional for direction in the use 
of this product. If the Upholstery is not properly assembled, personal injury and damage to the 
Upholstery could result.

 WARNING: If components are damaged or missing, contact your Graham-Field distributor 

immediately. DO NOT use substitute parts. Use only Everest & Jennings replacement parts. 
Non-Everest & Jennings replacement parts could cause personal injury and damage to the 
Upholstery.

 WARNING: DO NOT exceed the wheelchair’s maximum weight capacity.
 WARNING: GF Health Products, Inc. assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury caused 

by improper assembly, installation or use of this product.

INTENDED USE

The Adjustable Back Upholstery with Cushion is intended to provide a stable surface for 
propulsion and completion of wheelchair user’s daily living activities.

ASSEMBLY (REFER TO PICTURES ABOVE)

1.  Use Phillips screwdriver to remove existing wheelchair back upholstery; keep hardware and 

upholstery for future use.

2.  Place Back Upholstery around backposts as shown in Fig. 1.
3.  Using existing hardware, install screw through grommet at top of Upholstery into backpost as 

shown in Fig. 2. Use Phillips screwdriver to tighten securely. Do this for both backposts.

4.  Place cushion over Upholstery as shown in Fig. 3, and use hook and loop strips to fasten. 

Wheelchair with Back Upholstery and Cushion installed is shown in Fig. 4.

5.  Straps can be tightened or loosened as shown in Fig. 2 depending on user preference.

 WARNING: Straps must be securely fastened. Failure to do so could affect back support and 

result in personal injury.
