Chapter 3: General Information
Practice maneuvering the trailer; the trailer always backs in the opposite direction of the
vehicle. To maneuver the trailer, turn the steering wheel in the direction you want the trailer to go.
Familiarize yourself with this manual and all aspects of your boat prior to initial launch. At the launch
site, go through a pre-launch checklist. The list should be suited to your specific needs.
Trailering and relative information can be found on page 105 in Sportfish, Cruisers, Yachts

Predeparture
See the checklist on page 44 in Sportfish, Cruisers, Yachts Owner’s Manual before starting out.
Casting Off and Approaching The Dock
Unlike an automobile, the stern of your boat reacts first when turning. A turn to the right will
swing the stern to the left and vice-versa. Remember that turning your boat away from an object,
such as a dock, will tend to swing the stern toward that object. Reference procedures for casting off
and approaching the dock starting on page 51 of Sportfish, Cruisers, Yachts Owner’s Manual.
Reboarding Ladder
Your Grady-White boat is equipped with a reboarding ladder. In addition to allowing entry and
exit of the boat for swimming or other activities in the water, it also provides a means of unassisted
reboarding in the event of someone falling overboard. This ladder is located on the platform at the
stern of the boat and is accessible by a person in the water. To deploy, lift the hinged section and
swing it away from the boat so that the rungs are in the water. The ladder is telescopic and can be
extended by manually pushing or pulling on the last rung. When the ladder is not in use it should be
retracted and kept in the stowed position on the platform. Some boat models are equipped with an
additional ladder in the bow, or a removable ladder for use with a cockpit side door. These ladders
are not intended to be used for unassisted reboarding.
DANGER
To avoid risk of injury or death from contact with propellers, engines should not be running
when near swimmers or when using reboarding ladder.
