Like a car, boats must be operated according to safety rules and traffic regulations. Although we
include some basic boating tips in this manual, a thorough review of the safety rules and regulations
for boating is beyond the scope of this text.
We support the work of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and the United States Power
Squadrons. We urge you to attend any instructional classes sponsored by these organizations.
