The event occurred for a repeated time and firmly established itself as racing sport event.
And also for the repeated time the successful cooperation from GPSoverIP with T-Mobile
showed that quickness and precise information can not be beat. That everyone could
follow the racing cars endowed with a GPSauge directly live in the Internet, is a service
aspect for all that are rooted in the racing-sport.
F.4. Web-based: Nurburgring
The 24h-race on the Nurburgring numbers among one of the most important motor races
of the world. It offers risky maneuvers, spectacular pit stops and the ultimate racing
vehicles for the racing sport fan.
After the outstanding success in 2006, all eyes of course were directed towards the favorite
of the race: the Manthey Racing Team with Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. The Manthey Team
itself focused its eyes among other things on the screen of a notebook seated in the box
which displayed the GPSoverIP-Live data from the vehicle in real time. For that the
vehicle, as already 2006, was equipped with the GPSauge. The device provided the team
important location and vehicle information which were used for the planning of the pit
stops. Manthey is a paragon for the refinement of vehicles of the Porsche brand and
always uses the newest material. Therefore it does not amaze that Manthey relies on
GPSoverIP during the transfer of location and vehicle information.
Manthey won the 24-hour-race once again in a superior way with a one round lead.
However, not only Manthey took benefit by the use of GPSoverIP. Both for the team
of Land-Motorsport and Alzen-Motorsport (Hankook) the GPSauge proved to be an
indispensable instrument.
In both teams the radio contact failed during the race and one never knew, whether
the vehicle drives into the pit lane now or not. This decisive information could only be
supplied by the GPSauge in that moment!
At Schubert-Motors on the other hand the BMW Z4 coupe with the driver Hans-Joachim
Stuck was regarded with distrust at the PC screen and hoped, the loss of time of the last
