Suspension System SU-7
special height II must be installed. Since the special height II is not limited by the speed, the vehicle shall not run for
long at this height, otherwise, the components and traveling comfort can be subject to damage.
●
Manual height regulation by switches/buttons
The ride height subjects to changes at certain speed. This speed can be set by ECU parameters. The switches
controlling the increase and decrease of the ride height are resettable. The descending switch is inactivated if air bellow
is below 6bar.
●
Resuming normal height
1. With the switch control, the normal height resuming switch is a reset switch.
2. Automatic restoration of normal height will be activated if the preset speed threshold is surpassed by means of speed
control. This speed can be set by ECU parameters.
●
Height limit
Once the set min. or max. position is reached, the ECU will stop height regulation automatically.
●
Kneeling
Kneeling is one of the special functions of bus. “Kneeling” means the bus can be lowered down to facilitate the on
and off of passengers. Kneeling can be the descending of the whole vehicle or just the wheels on one side and an axle
with height sensor (usu. front axle) depending on the configuration of parameters. ECAS also takes the door position into
consideration and it monitors the contact spring under the door to guarantee the descending safety. If the contact spring
has any response in the descending process, the bus will resume the normal height.
The descending height for Kneeling is set by ECU parameters. Kneeling occurs at speed below 5km/h and with ride
height not above the normal value; otherwise, the vehicle will descend to normal height first before kneeling.
The Kneeling switches are all reset switches. For manual Kneeling, you shall hold the control button and out of
safety concerns, the vehicle will rise automatically immediately after the button is released .However, automatic
Kneeling requires only short-term button holding and you shall press the Stop button to halt at certain height.
The vehicle will resume the normal height automatically if surpassing 7km/h or by pressing down the normal
height resuming button,.
●
Air supply pressure monitoring
Kneeling and descending functions are only available in certain situations. For example, it is essential to have
sufficient air supply pressure to enable the descended and fully loaded vehicle back to traveling height, ECAS forbids
kneeling or descending if the air supply pressure is monitored by the pressure switch as lower than certain value. This
function is realized by installing pressure switch.

Composition of ECAS system
ECAS consists of the following parts:
