PARTS LIST: 2 Ladder frames with internal bungee cord, 6 Bolas (3 orange and 3 blue), 8 Ground stakes

ASSEMBLY: The plastic parts of the ladder frames are assembled as per Diagram 1 below. Push the plastic parts together to form

the frame as shown below in Diagram 1. For more stability when playing on a soft surface, use the ground stakes. Repeat for the

other frame.

PLAYING AREA: Select an open area that provides approximately 25 feet (7.62 m) between the two foul lines (front of the frames).

Allow children to set their own distance. The width of the court depends on the skill level of the players.

PLAYERS: Play is between two players or teams. One member from each team will stand next to each ladder. Players will want to

make sure to stand away from the ladder when not tossing the bolas.

GAME PLAY: The object of the game is to “out-toss” your opponents by wrapping your bolas around scoring rungs. First

player/team to reach 21 points wins! For the round, decide which player/team tosses first by flipping a coin, or some other suitable

method. For following rounds, the team scoring the highest points in the previous round is the first to toss in the next round. Each

round consists of one person (either player 1 or player 2 from team 1) tossing bolas. Play continues alternating player/team until

each player has had one bola toss. Bolas may be tossed in any way the player chooses, as long as they are tossed individually.

Players must not step across the foul line (front edge of the frame) during a toss, or the results of that throw will be reversed (other

bolas that were moved will be restored to their position before that throw).

SCORING: Points accumulate with each bola landing on a rung. Bolas may wrap around another bola with both bolas scoring. If

that second bola has one ball on either side of the next rung down, it scores points from both rungs. A cord may also wrap around

a vertical bar between rungs.

POINT VALUES: Top rung scores three points; middle rung scores two points; bottom rung scores one point. Bolas that miss the

ladder or bounce off the ground do not score points. Use the side rail scoring to track both player/team scores.

WINNING: There are two alternatives for declaring a winner:1) the winning team scores at least 21 points and leads by at least two

points, or 2) score exactly 21 points to win. When playing to exactly 21 points, if a round’s score would put a team over 21, that

round’s score is not used.
