H2OV - Housing Operation
Removing the Cover
The latches on the
H2OV
are spring loaded and include a safety catch to prevent accidental opening. The
best procedure for removing the cover of the housing is to place one hand over the back of the housing
and press in the small safety catch on one of the latches.
With your other hand, lift up on the latch, allow the latch to remain hooked to the cover until after you
repeat this process on the other side.
Do not
place the housing with the lens face against an unprotected surface while removing or replacing
the cover, taking care not to scratch the lens face.
Inserting your Camera
Basic Unit
For the Basic Unit, turn the camera power on and place in record mode, insert the camera in the housing
with the bottom of the camera facing the felt pads, making sure the record on/off switch remains in the
on
position.
The camera's small lanyard can be tucked along side the camera to allow room for the cover, (the lanyard
will also allow you to easily remove the camera from the housing).
Full Control Unit
The power and record switch on your camera should be in the
off
position while inserting into the
housing.
The record start/stop control on the H2OV should be set to the
stop
position while inserting and removing
the camera. This control has a floating magnet inside the housing, take care not to dislodge the magnet
while inserting or removing the camera, the magnet should move freely along the side of the camera.
Replacing the Cover
Inspect that the sealing surfaces are clean and free of any foreign particles. Place the cover on the
housing, making sure that it is seated properly and not in contact with any part of the camera.
Note: The power button on the cover is slightly offset and should be positioned so that the button is
closest to the top of the camera / housing. Set both latches loosely on the hooks of the cover and press
down on both latches at the same time,
(IMPORTANT - Do Not latch one at a time)
look to see if you
have a good seal, you should see a solid black line on the o-ring.
