Remove or Disconnect (Figure 1)
1. Pressure relief cap screw (17);
2. Gasket (18).
3. Spring (19).
4. Pawl (20).
5. Clamp (1).
6. Boot (2).
7. Adjusting sleeve (7) from housing bore by pulling
on actuator rod (3).

8. Spiral ring (4).
• Push down on the side of the ring (figure 2).
9. Actuator rod (3).
10. Piston pin (5) (figure 3).
11. Piston (6).
12. Worm grease seal (14) (figure 4).
13. Snap ring (13).
14. Worm gear (12).
• If worm gear binds, use a wrench to turn the
gear out clockwise.
15. Two retaining rings (11).
16. Thrust washers (10).
17. Seals (9).
• Push gear (16) out far enough to remove seals
(9).
18. Gear (16).

Clean
• All parts in mineral spirits or another suitable sol-
i vent.
Inspect
•All parts for signs of wear or stress. Replace 'as
needed.
• Actuator bore for corrosion and: scoring. Replace
as needed.

Install or Connect (Figure 1)
• Do not install the gear with the seals installed.
1. Lubricate worm gear, actuator bore, and sleeve
with the recommended grease. Refer to "Lubrica-
tion.”

2. Gear (16) and seals (9).
A. Push gear (16) out to Install one seal (9).
B. Push gear to the opposite side and install the
other seal (9).
