2. D rain rad iato r and remove ra d ia to r hoses. D isconnect
oil cooler lines if so equipped.
3. Disconnect wire connectors a t the dash and toe panel
and wire connector to horn and voltage regulator.
4. D isconnect battery and g enerator wires.
5. Rem ove front bum per bolts and remove bum per.
6. Remove bolts atta ch in g fender upper edge to cowl door
fram e.
7. Remove fan shroud.
8. W o rk in g from u n d e rn e a th re a r of fen d er, rem ove
a tta c h m e n t from each fender at the hinge pillar.
9. Rem ove bolt from each rad iato r support m ounting.
10. Remove bolts at each fender skirt to cab underbody
(Fig. 2C -15).
11. W ith a helper, remove front sheet m etal assem bly, with
rad iato r, battery, horn and voltage regulator attached.
In sta llation
1. W ith a helper place sheet m etal assem bly in position.
In stall all bolts loosely to fa c ilita te a lig n in g a fte r
com plete installation.
2. Install fender bolts at cowl.
3. Install com bination bolt and flat w asher assem bly into
e ach fe n d er re in fo rcem en t w hile in sertin g shim s
re q u ire d betw een fen d er re in fo rc e m en t and body
(R efer to Fig. 2C-16).
4. Install two bolts and shims required a t each fender rear
lower edge to hinge pillar.
5. Install bolt in each fender skirt to underbody.
6. Install bolts a t steering colum n skirt reinforcem ent,
final torque 25 ft. lb. (33 N -m ).
7. T ighten each rad iato r support m ounting bolt 33 ft. lb.
(44 N -m ).
8. T orque bolts at fender to cowl 25 ft. lb. (33 N-m )
9. Install front bum per.
10. C onnect wire connectors a t dash and toe panel. A ttach
gen erato r and regulator wires.
11. Connect upper and lower rad iato r hoses. C onnect oil
cooler lines to the rad iato r on models so equipped.
12. C onnect b attery and fill radiator. S ta rt engine and
check for leaks.
13. Install Hood.
R adiator Support
Rem oval
1. D rain rad iato r, saving coolant, loosen attach m en ts and
remove rad iato r and coolant recovery tank.
2. Disconnect and remove battery.
3. Remove wiring from rad iato r support.
4. D isconnect fan shroud and lay back on engine.
5. Remove both head lam p assemblies.
6. Remove grille assembly.
7. Remove lower rad iato r grille panel. (Fig. 2C -13).
8. Rem ove screw s secu rin g fro n t fenders to ra d ia to r
support.
9. R em ove screw s secu rin g fender skirts to ra d ia to r
support bottom . (Fig. 2C -15).
10. R em ove bolt secu rin g ce n te r su p p o rt to ra d ia to r
support.
11. Remove bolts securing hood latch assem bly to rad iato r
support.
12. Remove rad iato r support bolts secured to fram e.
13. T ilt rad iato r support rearw ard and lift up and off.
Installation
1. R otate rad iato r support into position and loosely install
attach m en ts to fram e.
2. C onnect center support to rad iato r support.
3. Connect hood latch plate.
4. C onnect rad iato r support brackets to fenders.
