DUAL-ADJUSTMENT

CRUTCHES

All serious accidents concerning the medical device sup-

plied by us must be reported to the manufacturer and com-

petent authority of the member state where your registered

office is located.

INTENDED USE

Crutches are walking aids and are Class I medical devices

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND WARNINGS

Using  and  adjusting  the  walking  stick  will  depend  on

the user. When using the crutch for the first time, healthcare

professionals are required to adjust the height and provide

training in its use. A medical evaluation is required for persons

with psychomotor disorders and those with prostheses or or-

thoses in their lower limbs. In some persons, prolonged use

may lead to disorders of the arm joints. If pain is experienced

in the hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder it is advisable to stop

using the aid and seek medical advice.

•  Do not use in direct contact with injured skin.

•  Beware of wet or slippery surfaces to avoid falling

•  DO NOT use a damaged device

•  Avoid submerging the item. Water seeps into the holes and

stagnates.

Contact the manufacturer in the event of an accident or fault.

ADJUSTING THE HAND GRIP HEIGHT

Height  adjustment  from  the  ground  depends  on  patient

height, type of use and subjective manoeuvrability. Follow the

numbered steps in Fig.1.

•  Release the spring clip from its housing (1) in the tube (DO

NOT use tools, see Fig.1b).

•  Unscrew the fastening ring nut (2)

•  Adjust  the  height  by  pulling  out  the  telescopic  tubes  and

align the holes (3)

•  Replace the spring clip (4)

•  Secure the fastening ring nut by screwing it tight (5)

ADJUSTING THE FOREARM SUPPORT

Push in the button and pull the item out to the desired length

(Fig.2).  The  correct  distance  is  found  by  holding  the  stick

and flexing the arm to 90° (Fig.3). A distance of 3-5 cm be-

tween the cuff and the arm muscle is indicative, but the crutch

should be able to rotate freely around the forearm without the

cuff touching the arm.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning: clean the hand grip and forearm support regular-

ly using mild soap. Do not use alcohol or solvents. If water

enters the tubes, remove tubes and ferrule and allow to dry.

Ferrule: Ground support ferrules are subject to wear and tear.

Frequent replacement is recommended using original spare

parts.

Hand grip: The hand grip can be replaced.

Re-use: Items are reusable after sanitising. Replace the fer-

rule and check that the upright is structurally sound. Do not

use if any faults are detected.

Sanitising/Disinfecting: Clean as per instructions and dis-

infect using low-concentration sodium hypochlorite solution.

Replace the hand grip if the item is to be reused.

Storage: Place inside bag and store in a clean location.
