EIA Status and Receive Level Screen
The EIA Status and Receive Level screen, shown in
, presents current status
information concerning DTE interface signals and the strength of the T1 signal(s) being received.
The EIA Status portion of the screen displays the current status of eight DTE interface signals as
OFF
,
ON
, or
TRANS
.
TRANS
indicates that the signal is transitioning, as opposed to being in a
prolonged On or Off condition.
The Network Rx Line Level and Cascade Rx Line Level displays indicate signal strength at their
respective interfaces as a range in decibels:
+2 dB to - 7.5 dB
-7.5 to -15 dB
-15 dB to -22.5 dB
Under -22.5 dB
If there is not any signal at all being received,
No Signa
l is displayed as the line level. The
Cascade Line Level display shows
Cascade Not Installed
when the optional cascade port
is not present.
When you are done viewing the screen, type 0 and press the Enter key to return to the Monitor/
Status menu.
Note
At low signal levels (-15 dB and below) the unit’s sensitivity to pulse density (number of marks in the data)
can cause overlapping in the range display.
